Last week Sydney was the city of Spirit as World Youth Day hit with thousands of youthful pilgrams from all around the world gathering in our beautiful country to celebrate and learn about their faith. Organised by the Catholic Church with a special visit from His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. World Youth Day was a major success! As Cardinal George Pell, Catholic Archbishop Of Sydney said “We’ve experienced a tsunami of joy and faith.”
Sydney was buzzing and we were blessed enough to go and get involved in the celebrations. Some of the highlights were at Barangaroo where we were meters away from Pope Benedict XVI at his arrival as well as the moving Saturday night Vigil and Sunday Mass with 400 000 people attending, held at Randwick Racecourse.
